MINDFULNESS GROUP FOR ANXIETY & DEPRESSION -
This is an 8-week group for adults struggling with anxiety and/or depression. Each week, participants come together to learn to alter their relationship with their thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations that contribute to depression and anxiety and often lead to relapse. The first 60 minutes each week is spent learning more about anxiety and depression, engaging in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) psycho-education, and practicing mindfulness techniques. The last 30 minutes of each class is spent doing a mindful yoga practice, which emphasizes gentle postures and breath work to strengthen the mind-body connection.
